Peptide Storage & Handling

General laboratory best practices for storing and handling lyophilized and reconstituted research peptides.

Before reconstitution (lyophilized)

  • Store lyophilized (freeze-dried) vials frozen, away from light.
  • Avoid repeated temperature cycling — keep vials in stable, consistent storage.
  • Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening to reduce condensation.

After reconstitution

  • Refrigerate reconstituted solutions and use within your protocol’s defined window.
  • Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles once reconstituted.
  • Keep solutions away from direct light and heat.

Shipping & receiving

  • Inspect packaging and vials on arrival for damage.
  • Transfer to appropriate storage promptly after receipt.
  • Log receipt date and batch/lot number for your records.

General handling

  • Use sterile technique when accessing any vial.
  • Label vials with contents, concentration and date prepared.
  • Dispose of materials per your institution’s laboratory safety protocols.

General guidance only. Specific stability and storage data should be taken from the Certificate of Analysis (COA) supplied with your batch. This page does not constitute handling instructions for human or animal use — always follow your institution’s SOPs. For laboratory research use only.
